LAAMT Partners with Big Mission Church of Mobile
The Los Angeles Academy of Media & Technology has entered a community partnership with Big Mission Church of Mobile, a Gulf Coast congregation organized around the tagline “Uniting in love for a cleaner world.”
The collaboration unites LAAMT’s hands-on media education model with the church’s civic and environmental mission. Students and working creators in the Eco-Media Storyteller pathway will document local service, stewardship, and youth programs — then shape that material into films, social stories, and community broadcasts rather than one-off event recaps.
“A cleaner world needs more than a slogan. It needs people who can see the work, film the work, and send the work back into the neighborhood with dignity.”

What the partnership does
Planned activity includes student crews at church-hosted community events, shared workshops on ethical documentary practice, and a standing pipeline so Mobile stories can move from the Gulf Coast into LAAMT classrooms and streaming partners.
The church’s branding — a living cross and tree with a golden heart, globe, and diverse unity hands — already speaks the same language as Eco-Media: faith, place, and environmental stewardship in one frame. LAAMT will treat that identity as source material for student visual systems, not as decoration added after the cut.
Why Mobile
LAAMT’s Eco-Media path is designed to travel. Two Academy-supported film projects are already tied to Mobile. Pairing that production work with a local house of worship gives students a real community desk: people to interview, programs to document, and an audience that will hold the work accountable.
The partnership sits inside LAAMT’s larger frame: prepare the next generation of storytellers across film, podcasts, photography, books, social, documentary, animation, and live experience — and root that training in places that already serve the public good.
